selective catalytic reduction (scr):nox reacts with ammonia over catalyst to form n2 and h2o in the scr reactor at proper temperature (300~420 deg. c), de-nox efficiency up to 85% .
selective non-catalytic reduction (sncr):nox reacts with reagents to form n2 and h2o in furnace at reaction temperature window from 840 to 1150℃. de-nox efficiency from 25% up to 50% .
traditionally, scr system uses anhydrous ammonia or aqueous ammonia as reagent, but they are hazardous chemicals, for safety concerns, more and more power plants choose urea for on-site ammonia generation.
